Subject:

Packaging design to deliver better consumer experiences with less environmental impact for some of the most frequently used consumer products. Choose to design packaging for the scope of one of the two main categories, Zero Waste Convenience (industries in focus: takeaway food & drink, e-commerce, delivery services) or Zero Waste Experience (industries in focus: electronics, fashion, food, cosmetics & wellbeing). You may also enter the Zero Waste Wildcard category for packaging designs that answer the general zero waste packaging brief yet do not fit into either of the main categories. See specifications here. (link to “Specifications” further down the page)

A jury of world-renowned influencers in packaging and design will choose up to 10 entries to be shortlisted. After the first selection by the jury, the participants with shortlisted work will be asked to deliver physical prototypes of their designs. If needed, Metsä Board can supply guidance and materials from its range for this purpose. This issue will be addressed with the designers after the shortlist has been announced.

Conditions:

  • The main material used shall be paperboard or other material that is sustainable, renewable, and/or recyclable and reduces environmental impact.
